Ritteri Anemone

Heteractis Anemone should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of lighting a thick sandy, muddy or rubble bottom in which to bury its foot. Anemones are capable of movement using their foot to the best suitable place in the aquarium. Heteractis Anemones usually host A. clarkii, A. chrysogaster, A. chrysopterus, A. perideraion, A. percula, A. leucokranos, A. omanenisi, A. melonopus, A. nigripes, A. akallopisos, A. ocellaris, A. akindynos, and A. bicinctus. Provide a diet rich in small pieces of hand fed meaty foods it will also require high lighting to feed the symbiotic zooxanthellae algae within its body known as photosynthesis. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications.
The Ritteri Anemone is also known as the Magnifica or Purple Base Anemone. Somewhat commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Ritteri Anemones are often seen in different colors such as blue, green, brown, magenta, red or white colors with brown, green, yellow or white tentacles. Ritteri anemones are the second largest anemone and should be added to large aquariums. Ritteri Anemone can grow to almost 36".
