Malu Anemone

Heteractis Anemone should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of lighting a thick sandy, muddy or rubble bottom in which to bury its foot. Anemones are capable of movement using their foot to the best suitable place in the aquarium. Heteractis Anemones usually host A. clarkii, A. allardi, A. tricinctus, A. chrysogaster, A. chrysopterus, A. akindynos, and A. bicinctus. Provide a diet rich in small pieces of hand fed meaty foods it will also require high lighting to feed the symbiotic zooxanthellae algae within its body known as photosynthesis. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications.
The Malu Anemone is also known as the Sebae, Hawaiian or White Sand Anemone. Somewhat commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Malu Anemones are often seen in different colors such as white, purple, pink, green, magenta or tan to brown. Malu Anemone can grow to almost 8".
