Purple Carpet Anemone

Stichodactyla Anemone should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of lighting a sandy, muddy or rubble bottom in which to bury its foot. Anemones are capable of movement using their foot to the best suitable place in the aquarium. Stichodactyla Anemones usually host A. clarkii, A. sebea, A. akindynos, A. chrysogaster, A. chrysopterus and A. polymnus. Provide a diet rich in small pieces of hand fed meaty foods it will also require high lighting to feed the symbiotic zooxanthellae algae within its body known as photosynthesis. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications.

The Purple Carpet Anemone is also known as the Saddle Anemone. Somewhat commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Carpet Anemones are seen in different colors however this Purple Carpet Anemone is seen in various shades of purple. Purple Carpet Anemone can grow to almost 30".
