Emerald Crab

(Mythrax sculptus)

Mythrax Crabs should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork, cracks, caves and crevices for grazing and hiding. Generally found hiding among the reefs in caves with rubble during the day as they are generally nocturnal. Mythrax Crabs are energetic algae eaters and will help to clean up nuisance algae in no time. They may also help clean up bubble algae. If sufficient algae is not available supplement with dry seaweed, chopped meaty foods or a quality pellet food. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications. Mythrax Crabs are great for beginner hobbyists as they are easy to care for and reef safe.

The Emerald Crab is also known as the Mythrax Crabs. Very commonly seen in the aquarium trade there are two color variants of this species with this one being green. Their carapace and claws are a shinny green with dark green hairy legs. Emerald Crabs can grow to 3".
