Blue Fiddler Crab

Pertrolesthes Crabs are typically found in mangrove swamps, mudflats, and other intertidal zones. They thrive in brackish or saline water environments where they can burrow into the mud and feed on detritus and small organisms. They are primarily detritivores, feeding on decaying plant matter, algae, and other organic material found in the mud and sand of their habitat. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications.
Pertrolesthes Crabs are also sometimes known as Blue Fiddler Crabs. They are not commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Pertrolesthes are varying shades of blue with cream to yellow legs and pincers. They can grow up to 4".
