Longfinger Neck Arrow Crab

(Podochela riisei)

Podochela Crabs are commonly found in rocky intertidal zones, coral reefs, and other shallow marine habitats. They prefer areas with ample crevices and hiding spots among rocks or coral branches. They are omnivores, meaning they consume a variety of plant and animal matter. Their diet includes detritus, algae, small invertebrates, and plankton. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications.

Podochela riisei are also sometimes known as Longfinger Neck Arrow Crabs. They are not often seen in the aquarium trade. Podochela riisei are typically translucent with hints of yellow and red to help them blend into their surroundings. They can grow up to 4".
