Bicolor Damselfish
(Stegastes partitus)
Stegastes Damselfish should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of room to swim. Plenty of algae covered rock work with caves and crevices should be provided for grazing and hiding. A diet of plant based foods which include Spirulina and Nori should be provided several times daily. These Damselfish can be highly aggressive and territoral careful consideration will need to be given before adding to the aquarium. Only one Stegastes should be added to the aquarium. House with larger fish that are not easily harassed.
The Bicolor Damselfish are also known simply as Bicolor Gregory. Rarely seen in the aquarium trade. Bicolor Damselfish are quite stunning, their tail and back portion of their body is a bright white with the front part of the body being mainly black highlighted with yellow on its belly. They can grow to almost 4".
We recommend a minimum aquarium size of 30 gallons or larger for this species.
