Astraea Snail should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork for grazing. If insufficient algae be sure to provide dried algae or vegetable based pellets. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications. Astraea Snails are great for beginner hobbyists as they are easy to care for, peaceful and reef safe.

The Spiny Star Astraea Snail is also known as the Star Snail. Spiny Star Astraea Snails are generally a green to tan colored spiral shaped shell with small spines that encircle the shell. Spiny Star Astraea Snail are very valuable additions to and aquarium as they are very good scavengers of nuisance algae. Somewhat commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Spiny Star Astraea Snails can grow to 1".
