Top Crown Snail
(Lithopoma undosum)
Lithopoma Snails should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork for grazing. If insufficient algae be sure to provide dried algae or vegetable based pellets. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications and are sensitive to high nitrate levels. Lithopoma Snails may have a difficult time righting themselves, attention should be given if they overturn themselves. Lithopoma Snails are great for beginner hobbyists as they are easy to care for, peaceful and reef safe.
The Top Crown Snail is also known as the Wavy Turban Snail. Top Crown Snail are very valuable additions to and aquarium as they are very good scavengers of nuisance algae's as well as cyanobacteria and diatoms. Commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Top Crown Snails have a cone shaped shell that is a tan or brownish color and may have coralline algae on it. Top Crown Snails can grow to 2".
