Cave Shrimp
(Stenopus pyrsonotus)
Stenopus Shrimp should be added to well established aquariums with plenty of rockwork with ledges, cracks, caves and crevices for resting and hiding. Generally found perching on ledges. Provide a diet rich in small pieces of meaty foods. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications. Magnesium and Iodine are important components for shrimp as they need these for molting. Stenopus Shrimp are great for beginner hobbyists as they are easy to care for, hardy and peaceful.
The Cave Shrimp is also known simply as the Ghost Boxing Shrimp. Occasionally seen in the aquarium trade. Cave Shrimp may set up cleaning stations to clean dead tissue and parasites from fish. The Cave Shrimp are a beautiful pink and white color with long pinchers and white antennae's. Cave Shrimp can grow to 3".
