Orange Ridge Sea Star

Echinaster Sea Stars are carnivorous and feed on a variety of small organisms like mollusks, crustaceans, and detritus. Echinaster sea stars are known for their ability to move quite swiftly compared to other sea star species. They use their tube feet to glide across the substrate or even climb vertical surfaces. Echinaster spinulosus Sea Stars are also known simply as Orange Ridge Sea Stars or Small Spiny Sea Star. Not commonly seen in the aquarium trade. They are typically reddish-brown or orange in color. They are relatively small compared to some other species and typically only reach a maximum size of around 8" in diameter. However, their size can vary based on factors such as age and environmental conditions.
