Assorted African Sea Star

Protoreaster Sea Star should be added to well established aquariums with a deep bed of sand and plenty of open area. Protoreaster Sea Star are not considered to be reef safe as they may attempt to consume Polyps. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications and are sensitive to water parameter changes. Protoreaster Sea Star not reef safe as they may disturb anemones, gorgonians, soft corals stony coral, sponges, clams, urchins turbeworms and small unaware fish.
The Assorted African Sea Star is also known as the Red Spine or Knob Sea Star. Somewhat commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Assorted African Sea Stars are an incredibly beautiful Sea Star with various colors and patterns. Be sure not to expose the Assorted African Sea Star to air. There are no distinguishing characteristics between males and females. Assorted African Sea Stars can grow to 12".
