Chocolate Chip Sea Star

Protoreaster Sea Star should be added to well established aquariums with a deep bed of sand and plenty of open area. Protoreaster Sea Star are not considered to be reef safe as they may attempt to consume Polyps. Invertebrates do not tolerate copper medications and are sensitive to water parameter changes. Protoreaster Sea Star not reef safe as they may disturb anemones, gorgonians, soft corals stony coral, sponges, clams, urchins turbeworms and small unaware fish.
The Chocolate Chip Sea Star is also known as the Nodular Sea Star. Commonly seen in the aquarium trade. Chocolate Chip Sea Stars are a very lovely ornamental Sea Star with small dark brown spots against a light tan to gray colored body. Be sure not to expose the Chocolate Chip Sea Star to air. There are no distinguishing characteristics between males and females. Chocolate Chip Sea Stars can grow to 15".
